This 30+acre site in the Housatonic River Valley of eastern Connecticut has been a project of the Firm for over 25 years. The original house was designed in the late 1970’s.
The land was originally purchased for a second home and escape from New York City. It has evolved into a small cultural oasis in the rural Connecticut hills as the owners expanded their collection of art especially outdoor sculpture and added buildings and outdoor uses. The architects have designed additions for a caretaker cottage, an enclosed swimming pool, a tennis court and shade structure, and a small house for visiting grandchildren that also functions as a party pavilion in the summer.
