This year-round house on Cape Cod Bay was designed as a summer getaway. It is organized as an “L,” facing inward to a courtyard that is enclosed on the remaining two sides with dense vegetation.

The sloping site allows for the main entry on the second floor. This floor includes the kitchen/ dining/ living areas and a Master suite, and looks out over the nearby dune towards the sweep of the Cape from Eastham to Wellfleet. Guest bedrooms are below, accessing the courtyard.

The shape of the house - shed roofs with windows high in the taller walls - allows light from the sky to enter the house throughout the day. The orientation of the main windows is northeast and northwest, providing light without glare or areas of high contrast.
