A new setting was required for this early Cape Cod house, which has been brought up to date by the new owners.

The stone walls modify topography to provide level outdoor space for the owners and their family. Extensive planting of native and flowering trees leads the eye to open views and affords privacy.

The owners’ taste for flowering plants, mainly native to attract birds and butterflies, provided the impetus behind redesign of the perennial gardens, which can be seen from all the rooms on the south side of the house and offer a quiet place with views both of the distant terrain and of the intimacy of the garden.
